Latrobe, PA (Sports Network) - Pittsburgh Steelers starting guard Kendall Simmons is expected to miss the entire 2004 season after apparently suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

Simmons hurt the knee during practice on Wednesday and an MRI exam Thursday revealed the severity of the injury. Simmons is expected to seek a second opinion next week.

The 25-year-old Simmons was a first-round pick (30th overall) of the Steelers in the 2002 NFL Draft. He has started all 30 games he has played in during the first two years of his career.
