New York, NY (Sports Network) - New Orleans Saints linebacker Sedrick Hodge was suspended for four games by the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Hodge, who will be unavailable for games with Seattle, San Francisco, St. Louis and Arizona, was expected to start this season at strong-side linebacker. Hodge must leave the team September 5 and cannot be reinstated until October 4.
The 25-year-old Hodge posted 47 tackles and one sack last season. Over the past three seasons, he has started 25 games.
