Bethlehem, PA (Sports Network) - Philadelphia Eagles backup quarterback Koy Detmer is scheduled to undergo minor knee surgery on Tuesday and is expected to miss two preseason games.

Detmer hurt his right knee in June during the team's voluntary mini-camp. He injured the same knee while playing at the University of Colorado.

Detmer, who is the holder on all of the field goal and extra point attempts during the season, signed a four-year extension before the 2003 campaign.

"I hope to continue to condition and just get stronger and stronger with everything especially my knee as we go," Detmer said.

The San Antonio, TX native completed just three of his five passes for 32 yards last season. Detmer, who has made just seven starts in his career, rarely plays because the Eagles have All-Pro quarterback Donovan McNabb.
