(Sports Network) - The Florida Marlins will try to continue their domination of the Milwaukee Brewers as the teams open a three-game series tonight at Pro Player Stadium.

Florida went 7-2 versus Milwaukee last season and has captured nine of the last 11 in the series.

However, the Marlins have struggled recently and are just 7-14 against teams from the Central Division this year. Florida snapped a four-game slide with an 11-5 win at Arizona yesterday. Paul Lo Duca continued to impress his new teammates with three hits, a home run and two RBI, leading the Marlins to the victory.

Lo Duca, who was acquired at the trade deadline from Los Angeles, also scored twice in the win. Miguel Cabrera homered for Florida, while Luis Castillo and Jeff Conine each had two hits and an RBI in the win.

Florida starter Carl Pavano matched a career high with his 12th win of the season. Pavano (12-4), who has won his last three starts, allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks. He also struck out five batters.

A.J. Burnett gets the start tonight for the Marlins. The righthander is 1-0 over his last two starts and threw six innings in a no-decision versus Montreal last Saturday. Burnett is 2-0 with a 2.79 ERA in six home starts this season. He has allowed a .207 batting average (29-for-140) at Pro Player Stadium this season and hasn't allowed more than three earned runs in any home start this year.

Burnett has faced the Brewers once in his career on May 5, 2002 in Milwaukee. He earned the victory going seven innings while allowing four runs on six hits with three walks and four strikeouts as the Marlins beat the Brewers 7-4.

Florida enters tonight's action in third place in the NL East, seven games behind the front-running Atlanta Braves. The Marlins are just a game ahead of the New York Mets for fourth.
