Chris Chambers Signs 5-Year Contract Extension

(miamidolphins.com) - The Miami Dolphins today signed wide receiver Chris Chambers to a five-year contract extension through the 2009 season. Chambers� original contract, which he signed as a rookie in 2001, was due to expire following the 2004 season.

The team�s second-round draft choice in 2001 out of the University of Wisconsin, Chambers has started 38 of the 47 games in which he has played in his three previous NFL seasons.

He has caught 164 passes for 2,580 yards and 21 touchdowns, as all three figures rank second in team history among Dolphins in their first three years with the club. In 2003, Chambers broke through for his most productive season as a pro when he registered 64 receptions for 963 yards and an AFC-high 11 receiving touchdowns.
