Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Saturday signed veteran defensive tackle Oliver Gibson to a contract. As per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Gibson began his career with Pittsburgh and after four years with the Steelers, he signed as an unrestricted free agent in 1999 with Cincinnati. Gibson was then signed by the Buffalo Bills on March 29 but was released on August 15.

The Notre Dame product has appeared in 133 career games with 57 starts, recording 243 tackles and 17.5 sacks.

Gibson saw limited action as a rookie with the Steelers, but has played in all 16 games in seven of the last eight seasons. Last year, he appeared in all 16 games for Cincinnati and contributed 24 tackles, 0.5 sacks and two passes defensed.
