Pittsford, NY (Sports Network) - Cleveland Browns linebacker Brant Boyer underwent surgery to repair a broken right foot suffered during a practice session Friday with the Buffalo Bills.
He is expected to miss 8-to-10 weeks.
Boyer was injured when someone stepped on his foot during the first practice between the two squads.
Boyer signed a four-year contract extension with the team in February. The 10-year veteran played in 15 games, starting six, for Cleveland last season. He tied a career-high with 80 tackles and is also the club's special teams captain.
