Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Bengals Wednesday terminated the contract of veteran running back Skip Hicks.
Hicks has rushed for 1,109 yards and 13 touchdowns in four NFL seasons with Washington and Tennessee. The 29-year-old did not play in the league last season after being released by the Carolina Panthers in preseason. Hicks signed a free-agent contract with the Bengals in January.
Hicks was a third round selection out of UCLA by the Redskins in the 1998 draft and ran for a career-best 433 yards and eight touchdowns during his rookie season.
Cincinnati also waived rookie wide receiver Jay Chapman, who signed as an undrafted free agent in May.
