Schumacher leads all-Ferrari front row

Budapest, Hungary (Sports Network) - Michael Schumacher captured the pole for Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring, just outside of Budapest. The No.1 Ferrari driver circled the 14-turn, 2.722-mile road course in one minute, 19.146 seconds.

The time was more than two seconds faster that Fernando Alonso's 2003 pole winning time of 1:21.688.

Starting on the front row with Schumacher will be his teammate Rubens Barrichello. The Brazilian posted a time of 1:19.323 after being quickest in the pre-qualifying session.

The second row will also consist of teammates, BAR/Honda's Takuma Sato (1:19.693) and embattled Jenson Button (1:19.700).

Button has announced that he has signed with the Williams/BMW team for 2005, but BAR countered that he was still under contract and the team would not let him go.

"There is absolutely no way that I am going to back down on this matter," team principal David Richards told the Guardian. "The guy has a contract with us. We're talking here about integrity. You can't just welch out of your commitments."

Button is currently third in the drivers standings behind Schumacher Barrichello.

"I'm going to give 100-percent this weekend, as I always do and hopefully we're looking at another good race like in Hockenheim ," said Button. "Both parties have said a lot in the press. Maybe we've said too much."

The race is scheduled to begin on Sunday at 8 p.m. (et).
