Packers sign top pick Carroll
Green Bay, WI (Sports Network) - The Green Bay Packers now have all of their 2004 draft picks in the fold after first-round pick Ahmad Carroll signed with the team Monday morning.
The defensive back from Arkansas was the 25th player chosen in April's NFL Draft. Carroll, who was the fourth defensive back selected in the draft, is the last of six rookies to sign with Green Bay.
In 36 games for the Razorbacks, Carroll notched 140 tackles (98 solo) with one sack, 25 passes defensed and four interceptions.
Carroll was an All-Southeastern Conference pick of the league's coaches each of his three seasons at Arkansas, earning first-team honors in 2001 and 2003.
In other news, the Packers placed cornerback Chris Johnson and defensive end Eric Powell on the physically unable to perform list.
Johnson missed last season with a right knee injury. He recently suffered a stress fracture in the same knee. Powell, meanwhile, is also out with a knee injury.
