Landover, MD (Sports Network) - Matt Leinart threw three touchdown passes to Reggie Bush as No. 1 Southern California survived a season-opening 24-13 victory over Virginia Tech in the Black Coaches Association Classic at FedEx Field. Bush, a sophomore tailback, caught five passes for 127 yards for the defending national co-champion Trojans (1-0), who have won 10 straight games dating back to last season. USC improved to 81-23-8 in season-openers. Bryan Randall completed 13-of-28 passes for 148 yards and rushed for 82 yards on 17 attempts for the Hokies (0-1), who have dropped five of their last six going back to last year. Leinart struggled at the outset, but finished a respectable 19-of-29 passing for 272 yards in the victory.
