Ex-UM defensive end Kenny Holmes brought in
(herald.com) - The Dolphins brought in unrestricted free agent and former New York Giants defensive end Kenny Holmes for a workout after Wednesday practice.
''It's no different than working out Stacy Mack or any other good player that's out there,'' Dave Wannstedt said. ``We're going to bring them in and get an idea of where there at. And down the road when we have a need, we'll have a short list of guys we'd be interested to sign.''
Wannstedt went on to say there is nothing new to report with unsigned restricted free agent Adewale Ogunleye.
The 30-year old Holmes made 25 tackles and six sacks in just nine games with the Giants in 2003. Holmes was placed in injured reserve and underwent arthroscopic knee surgery last November after suffering from extreme soreness in his knee.
The former Hurricane has 250 tackles, 38.5 sacks, and 10 forced fumbles in a seven year career.
Holmes, originally a first round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans, had his best season in 2000 with Tennessee, tallying 37 tackles, eight sacks, and five forced fumbles.
