Cowboys sign DT Chad Eaton

Irving, TX (Sports Network) - The Dallas Cowboys have signed veteran defensive tackle Chad Eaton to a one-year contract worth $660,000.

Eaton, who missed all of last season after undergoing multiple knee surgeries, played five years with the Patriots before playing two more seasons with the Seahawks.

The eight-year veteran joined the Cowboys Wednesday afternoon for practice at Valley Ranch. He has 248 career tackles, including three seasons with more than 70, and 15.5 total sacks.

The Seahawks waived Eaton in February. "This is simply cap related," said Seahawks GM Bob Ferguson at the time.
