The Arizona Cardinals have selected Miami Hurricanes cornerback Antrel Rolle with the 8th pick overall in the 2005 NFL Draft. He is expected to immediately step into a starting role.

Antrel Rolle was an All American at the University of Miami who came back for his senior season even though he was slated to be a top 10 pick in last year's draft.

At 6' and 201 pounds Antrel Rolle is considered to be versatile enough to play cornerback or safety at the NFL level.

Rolle is expected to be the only Miami Hurricane to be selected in the first round of this year's draft. This would be an incredibly lean year for the Canes considering that they have had nearly a dozen players selected in the first round over the past two years.
